Applications are invited for the post of full time Consultant in Respiratory Medicine. We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and committed colleague to join our rapidly evolving department. The successful applicant to this post will work alongside 11 existing consultant colleagues to provide core respiratory and general (internal) medicine services and to further develop our sub-specialty services.

The Respiratory Department sits within the Cardio-Thoracic Group, which includes the Departments of Cardiology, Cardio-Thoracic Surgery and Infectious Diseases. The Respiratory Unit has 88 beds, including 4 negative pressure rooms and ward-based NIV. Sub-specialty out-patient clinics exist for airways disease, sleep medicine and ventilation, lung cancer, interstitial lung disease and TB, and there is a Respiratory on-call rota with ‘in-reach’ into Acute Medicine. The Pulmonary Physiology Department, headed by a Consultant Clinical Scientist, provides a comprehensive service and remains the only Respiratory Physiology Service with UKAS accreditation. The Respiratory Department encourages participation in research and there is an active research programme.
