Are you a Registered RSCN or RN child looking for new challenge? We currently have vacancies in the following areas:

Ward 15 Infants – Wide range experience caring for 0-2 years 

Ward 16 - 24 bed ward, caring for children aged 2-12 and specialising in Paediatric Oncology for children of all ages. The applicant will be expected to undertake supportive care module within the 1st 12 months of employment.  

Children's Emergency Department - The Children’s Emergency Department is a stand alone facility with an entrance designated for children and young people, separate from the adult emergency department. The CED waiting area has recently undergone an expansion and refurbishment to accommodate the increasing number of attendances of children and young people. CED is now seeing circa 36,000 attendances per year and this number is increasing every year. CED consists of a 6 bedded observation ward, 8 cubicles and a paediatric resus bed.

Paediatric Medical Day unit - Is housed within the Paediatric Unit, providing Daily  Treatments for Children and Young People, As a Band 5 you will have the opportunity to learn new skills and enhance you existing skills. In a supportive environment.There will also be an opportunity to nurse children who are attending for Day surgery in the  Surgical day unit, which is house with in the Surgical Day unit.

PHDU is a 6 - 8 bedded Level I-II Paediatric Critical Care Unit caring for infants, children and young people aged 0-16/17 years of age from Coventry and Warwickshire. 

On a daily basis we work with the Paediatric team, the acute medical teams, acute surgery, the orthopaedic team and other specialities. We also work closely with dieticians, specialist nurses, physiotherapists and play specialists to enable us to offer holistic care. The Unit also has well established links with KIDS (Kids Intensive Care & Decision Support) based at Birmingham Children's Hospital. 

Nursing staff deliver CPAP and nasal High Flow Therapy and short-term ventilation. We are constantly developing the Unit with a Trainee Advanced Nurse Practitioner for PHDU, and developing our practices at all times.

PHDU has bespoke nurse development and training plans with the support of a Paediatric Practice Educator.
