University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire NHS Trust provides regional facilities for the whole of Coventry and Warwickshire with a population of approximately 1 million. The Trust is one of the largest Trusts in the UK and is committed to the development of a high quality Obstetrics and Gynaecology service. University Hospital is the main clinical teaching hospital for Warwick University Medical School.

 This is an extremely well equipped 1200 bed teaching hospital, containing all medical and surgical specialities and is a designated major trauma centre including a helicopter emergency service.

 Applications are invited for the above post commencing in September 2018 at University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire NHS Trust. These posts offer the opportunity for trainees who have achieved competencies at minimum ST3 level, to consolidate their clinical skills while working in a tertiary maternity unit. There will be opportunity to participate in ATSM skills modules if core log book is completed. Other special interests can be accommodated if requested.

 The Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology is located within the west wing in the teaching hospital and includes regional Neonatal ICU, SCBU, Gynaecology, Obstetrics, Emergency Assessment Unit, Colposcopy & Hysteroscopy suite, Fetal Well Being Unit, Lucina Birth Centre and the Centre for Reproductive Medicine. The Fetal Medicine Unit is self-contained and adjacent to the Antenatal and Postnatal Wards.

 The department hosts >6000 births, 2500 gynaecological emergences and 4,000 elective gynaecology cases annually.

 There is currently 2 full-time posts available at ST3-5. These posts include out-of-hours duty, as part of a full shift 1B rota.
