University Hospitals Coventry & Warwickshire NHS Trust’s Learning & Development team is looking to recruit a Learning and Development Officer. This role would present an ideal opportunity for someone from either a clinical or non-clinical background who is interested in developing their knowledge and skills to carry out a comprehensive range of administration duties as well as facilitate/deliver a range of subjects.

At UHCW, we fully support staff who aspire to develop and progress in their chosen career pathway and in this instance we are willing to recruit someone who does not have the relevant qualification as a Trainee Learning & Development Officer, Band 3. It will be a requirement for this role the individual undertakes a Business Admin Level 3 qualification and once qualified will advance to a Learning and Development Officer, Band 4. Please Note: The Band 3 Job Description will be subject to job matching.

Duties & Responsibilities

The main duties and responsibilities of the post holder will be:

  • Facilitate the Corporate Trust Induction Programme
  • Assist learners to access online training resources via ESR
  • Provide comprehensive administration support for the Learning and Development team
  • Deliver internal training courses including:                                 

 - Manual Handling (non-clinical)                                                  

 - Conflict Resolution Training                                                               

 - A range of other mandatory subjects

We are looking to appoint an individual with a range of comprehensive administrative skills and experience of working in a customer facing role, who has excellent communication skills, a working knowledge of Microsoft Office IT packages and is keen to support the Trust Induction Programme. Previous experience of training would be desirable but not essential.

Standard hours of work will be within the core office hours of either 8:00 to 16:00 or 08:30 to 16:30 Monday to Friday although some flexibility will be required to ensure the needs of the service are met. The post holder will be based at University Hospital, Coventry and the ability to travel to St. Cross Hospital in Rugby will be a requirement of the job.

Successful applicants will be invited to attend an interview at, University Hospital Coventry  on the 9th August 2018 to undertake a practical administration exercise and deliver a 5 minute presentation.
